RECOMMENDED READING

The Bible

Start with the New Testament ... and seek Biblical guidance. Find a spirit filled church that doesn't add or subtract to the Bible. Get involved with a prayer group.

Join Bible studies! I have completed a 3 year study that I highly recommend! It is through Capital Baptist Bible Institute (CBBI). It encompasses Theology, Old Testament and New Testament instuction by Bible Scholars who love the LORD with all their hears, souls and minds. As a matter of fact, most of what I share under the heading "Our Living Hope" I have gleaned from Dr Chris Gnanakan and Dr Berty Abdelmasih, as well as instruction from the pastor at my church,"Cornerstone Baptist Church," Chris Brown. All of these faithful men share the truth of God's Holy Word.

BE DISCERNING many will lead you down the wrong path.

If you question anything in word or print, defer to the Bible for the truth.

Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.

1 Peter 5:8

"Seek Him, daily, and He will reveal Himself to you In all your

ways be mindful of him, and he will make straight your paths."

(Proverbs 3:6)

"All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness." (2 Timothy 3:16)

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, on your own intelligence do not rely." (Proverbs 3:5)

There are Ministries that teach biblical truth,

There are False Teachers that add to, or subtract from, God's Holy Word ...

Be careful who and what you listen to ...

always seek truth within the Word of God

Prayer and Worship

Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances;

for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

(1 Thessalonians 5:16-18)

Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise the Lord!

(Psalm 150:6)

If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. (Romans 10:9-10)

Jesus said, “If you love me, keep my commands. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever — the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept Him, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him. But you know Him, for He lives with you and will be in you.”

(John 14:15-17)

In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. (Romans 8:26)

God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.

(John 4:24)

For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline. (2 Timothy 1:7)

If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. (1 John 1:9)

Jesus preached, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near.” (Matthew 4:17) Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. (James 1:22) Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. (Jeremiah 29:12)

But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. (Matthew 6:6) Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed. (Luke 5:16) The Lord says, “Be still, and know that I am God"… (Psalm 46:10)

This is what the Lord says ...“Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.” (Jeremiah 33:2-3)

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:6-7)

“Prayer is abandoning a life of demand and complaint, recognizing undeserved blessing, and giving myself to a life of thankfulness."

Paul David Tripp

Church

If you are not a member of a church, seek a church that is spirit filled and dedicated to worship and the gospel of truth. Their beliefs and teaching should be based solely on God's Holy Word (The Holy Bible)

I found a home in the Baptist Church

For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.

Matthew 18:20

All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness.

2 Timothy 3:16

If anyone or anything says anything that goes against scripture … RUN

If they deliberately omit scripture to change its message … RUN

If they add to scripture to change its message … RUN

If they require an additional book to The Bible … RUN

Watch out for false prophets.

They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves.

Matthew 7:15

For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear.

2 Timothy 4:3

"I do not think the devil cares how many churches you build, if you only have lukewarm preacher and people in them."

- Charles Spurgeon

"Lukewarmness is not weakness; it is wickedness. It is not a small sin; it is a great sin.

If the greatest commandment is to love God with all your heart, then the greatest sin is not to do so."

- Adrian Rogers

Radio & Music

Stations like K-Love, and Positive Hits PER offer today's Christian tunes for worship and enjoyment.

Other stations offer sermon broadcasts.

I often listen to American Family Radio

there are many more stations to explore ...

... but, be careful (even when listening to these stations) ... double check God's Word with man's ...

I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this scroll: If anyone adds anything to them, God will add to that person the plagues described in this scroll. And if anyone takes words away from this scroll of prophecy, God will take away from that person any share in the tree of life and in the Holy City, which are described in this scroll. (Revelation 22:18-19)

“Come, let us sing for joy to the Lord;

let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation.

Psalm 95:1
